As a child, Chabelly remembers helping others feel better through touch— massaging the sore backs and achy feet of tired loved ones. It didn't occur to her then, that this was part of her calling. The awakening came as a result of experiencing acupuncture as a patient, over 8 years ago. This was when she realized that she was called to not just any medicine, but an ancient one that relies deeply on touch and the body’s innate wisdom. It was then that she began learning about the art and medicine that we know as acupuncture. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology and diverting from a path toward dentistry, she enrolled at the Tri-state College of Acupuncture in NYC. There she spent two years fully immersed in all things acupuncture, proving to be a firm foundation when she transferred to the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, OH, where she completed a Master of Science in Acupuncture. During her journey, she had the privilege of learning from generous masters of the medicine. In this way, she has been able to integrate various forms of acupuncture in order to deliver personalized therapies to those in her care.
Perhaps even more importantly, she’s learned from hundreds of human beings who’ve freely shared their stories and trusted her with their bodies. She is of the mind that believes the body is one’s faithful companion, a carrier of soul, spirit and of the Oneness that is; thus, the body is to be handled with care, love and respect. She believes that to love the body is to listen to the body. Touch is the tool she turns to for this deep listening. She has availed herself to working together with those committed to loving themselves back to wholeness.
